Sakina is a debut book  by Saif ur Rehman. A young Pakistani author. 

Saif ur Rehman was kind enough to send this book my way. I received my book in a very cute packaging. 

Package contains a bookmark and miniature diary along with the book.

Paper quality is quite nice; though there were some spelling mistakes but lets just put that blame on publisher I guess. 

Coming to the story, it revolves around the protagonist Azfar shah. Who is getting bullied and going through dilemma. And in the middle of all the chaos he found a ray of love. 

But life had other plans. Not giving spoilers here, I am trying hard not to tell you what happend but there are some points I would love to discuss. 

Character of Azfar was going through alot. But again his life could be better , things could be easier for him, Only if Azfar was kind on himself as his mother once said to him. 

In order to seek love, you should learn to love yourself first, He had very low self-esteem that even if anyone was kind to him he confused it with love.  

I was quite mad at him for writing letter to Maha, telling her he has no feelings and he may appear happy but he is dead inside. 

I feels like he was seeking sympathy and attention thats it. 

And this is what most of the boys of this age do. 

Saif ur Rehman did a great job by adding such deatils to the character that how a person getting haterd and bullying is still seeking love and how everyone has a right to live happily as they want. 

He brought this issue to limelight what most of the boys of our age going through. Love and hate  relationships with everyone, seeking validations, going through heartbreaks and bullying.   

Nobody can ever recover the loss of parents.  

How the grief stays inside of Azfar and how he was trying to escape even from his own emotions was so relateable. 

Coming to the tag line of the book, 

Can love heal them? 

Ofcourse yes ! True love have the tendency to heal you, no matter what you are going through, your miseries will fade away even by the thought of your beloved. Love is the essence of everything. I beleive so! 

Stroy is heart wrenching, the ending left me in shock for hours, I wasn't expecting this. 

It was nice reading Sakina.
